CMS Dialogue: Immigration Reform: The Political Prospects, Integration of the Newly Legalized, and Implementation of a Large-Scale Legalization Program

The Center for Migration Studies of New York (CMS) offered an event on the political prospects for immigration reform in 2014, the effect of reform proposals on immigrant integration, and creative responses to challenges related to the implementation of a large-scale legalization program in New York City and elsewhere.  The highly timely event took place on February 6, 2014 at CMS’s new office at 307 E. 60th Street (near Second Avenue) in Manhattan.  Speakers included Kevin Appleby, Director of Migration Policy and Public Affairs for the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops; Maria Enchautegui, Senior Research Associate specializing in immigration policy with the Urban Institute; and Nisha Agarwal, Deputy Director for the Center for Popular Democracy.
