The European Migration Centre (EMZ) is one of the largest institutions 
dealing with migration and integration in Europe. Its members
are political scientists, sociologists, ethnologists, regional scientists 
and historians who work in an interdisciplinary and collabrative context.

Centre for Migration Law is part of the Faculty of Law, Nijmegen University,
The Netherlands.

Center for International and European Law on Immigration and Asylum
was founded in 1994 by Prof. Dr. Kay Hailbronner of the University
of Constance, Germany. The site has wonderfully useful links under
its "Passerelle" section.

Chair of demographie at Humboldt University Berlin presents information
about demographic research and the curriculum at the University in both
English and German. A newsletter on migration and population is updated.

December 18 is the online network for the promotion and protection
of the rights of migrant workers.

Forced Migration Review provides a forum for the regular exchange
of practical experience, information, and ideas between researchers, 
refugees, and internally displaced people, and those who work with them.
It is published three times a year in English, Spanish, and Arabic 
by the Refugee Studies Centre/University of Oxford in association
with the Global IDP Project/Norwegian Refugee Council.

German Foundation for World Population is committed towards sustainable
development. DSW contributes to efforts aimed at supporting the dignity
of owmen and men throughout the world through the implementation of activities outlined in the Cairo Programme of Action (ICPD 1994).

H-Ethnic This source provides, under H-Ethnic Resource Links"
a host of primary and secondary sources, arranged by source
and theme.  It provides links to such sites as the Bureau of the
Census, Immigration and Naturalization Service, and the National
Archives and Record Administration.

Immigrant Ships Transcribers Guild offers  a variety of materials obtained
from many different  members of the Immigrant Ships Transcribers community.

Immigration and Naturalization Service includes electronic copies
of the Immigration and Nationality Act and Title 8 of the Code of Federal
Regulations as well as data files pertaining to recent immigration.

Immigration Forum focuses on arguments about American immigration policy.

International Labour Organization, trilingual (English, French, and Spanish)
includes working papers, conference, documents, publications, and on-going
activities of the ILO. It was created in 1919. In 1926, the organization set up
a supervisory system on the application of its standards, which still exists
today. In 1960, the ILO created the International Institute for Labour Studies
at its Geneva headquarters. Migration is a subject that obviously and
frequently intersects with the ILO's broader interests.

International Relations and Security Network (ISN) is an electronic clearing
house for resources and institutions in the field of international relations
and security studies. It is run by the Center for Security Policy and Conflict
Research at the ETH-Zurich in conjunction with Euro-Atlantic Foundation,
Burssels, and EINIRAS.

Migration and Refugee Services of the United States Catholic Conference
carries out the commitment of the Roman Catholic Bishops of the United
States to serve immigrants, refugees and other people on the move.
It assists the bishops in the development of policy positions, works
with the Federal government and local churches in resettling refugees,
and assists local churches and specialized apostolates in responding
to the pastoral needs of Catholics among these populations.

Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD),
based in Paris, France, has as its sole function facilitating social
and economic cooperation among its member countries. Through
globalization of the world economy, national borders are, in part,
losing their economic meaning. The policies of individual countries
are more and more affected and constrained by the interaction
of domestic policies of one nation on those of another. Through
the OECD, member countries seek to adapt their domestic policies
to minimize conflict with other countries.

The Migration and Ethnic Relations Homepage of the European
Research Centre on Migration and Ethnic Relations (ERCOMER),
contains superb links to research institutes, journals and newsletters,
data archives, and mailing and discussion lists.

Refugee Studies Centre (RSC) is part of the University of Oxford's
International Development Centre at Queen Elizabeth House.  
Its objectives are to carry out multidisciplinary research and teaching
on the causes and consequences of forced migration; to disseminate
the results of that research to policy makers and practitioners, as well as
within the academic community; and to understand the experience of forced
migration from the point of view of the affected populations.

Refugee Womens Legal Group (RWLG) was established in 1996
by individuals and organizations concerned about the impact of changes in immigration law on women seeking asylum in the U.K. Central among
its aims is the devellopment of a gendered perspective on refugee law
and policy.  The RWLG produced "Women as Asylum Seekers" in 1997, 
"Gender Guidelines for the Determination of Asylum Claims in the UK"
in  1998 and, most recently, "Refugees and Gender: Law and Process."

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is an intergovernmental
organization of 59 member states and 42 observers, which since 1951
has operated programs worldwide to assist migrants and refugees
with international migration services. IOM is committed to the principle
that humane and orderly migration benefits migrants and society.
As an intergovernmental body, IOM acts with its partners in the international
community to assist in meeting the operational challenges of migration;
advance understanding of migration issues; encourage social and economic
development through migration; and work toward effective respect
of the human dignity and well-being of migrants.

The Migration News is a free monthly electronic publication edited
by Professor Philip L. Martin of the University of California at Davis.
It is an essential tool for anyone who wants to keep up with
current developments.

Thomas: Legislative Information on the Internet -- a service of the Library
of Congress provides the full text of pending House and Senate bills,
searchable digests and histories of bills and amendments, features
on "hot bills," indexed access to the Congressional Record for recent
sessions, and much more.

U.S. Bureau of the Census contains a wide range of fundamentally
important information.

U.S. General Printing Office, Home Page for the Superintendent
of Documents, offers access to the Federal Register, the Congressional
Record
, and pending Congressional bills as well as information about
