Global Trends in Migration: Theory and Research on International Population Movements

The papers in this volume (arranged into three sections) were originally presented at an international conference on international migration, held at Rockefeller Foundation’s Bellagio Study and Conference Center, Bellagio, Italy in June 1979. The papers reflect the diverse opinions of an interdisciplinary group of scholars with differing perspectives and experience in migration studies. The conference was organized to review the state of the art in the field of international migration, evaluate current (relative to the time of publication) migration trends, and assess the implications for research and policy.
