Initiatives

Initiatives

CMS initiatives focus sustained attention on priority populations and communities, drawing from the agency’s diverse areas of expertise, activities, communication tools, and work product.

Democratizing Data Initiative

Its Democratizing Data Initiative offers accessible estimates and profiles of more than 50 immigrant populations, with the goals of assisting community-based organizations (CBOs), government agencies, policymakers, the press, and others that seek to understand and (in many cases) serve these populations. This work helps to promote understanding between immigrants and members of their communities.

Catholic Immigrant Integration Initiative

The Catholic Immigrant Integration Initiative connects diverse, often siloed Catholic institutions, programs, ministries and leaders that work with immigrants and refugees in different ways. It seeks to strengthen the individual and collective work of these institutions in keeping with the Catholic Church’s history, identity and vision of immigrant integration.
