Obama Administration Tries to Walk the Immigration Reform/Enforcement Line, But Deportation Statistics Are Not Misleading

Over the last five years, the Obama administration has attempted to reconcile its support for immigration reform legislation with harsh enforcement policies.  Recently, however, the administration appears to claim that its policies have had a modest impact. In a blog for The Huffington Post, CMS Executive Director Donald Kerwin, responds by detailing the high number of formal removals of unauthorized and “deportable” immigrants in the United States.
