Italian Repatriation from the United States, 1900-1914

1973
This study examines Italian repatriation from the United States between 1900 and 1914. Although Italians, as well as Greeks, Germans and Britons, left America in large numbers at different times, their re-emigration has escaped extensive study by historians, economists, and sociologists. Those scholars in each field who have dealt with repatriation have disagreed on its causes and effects, although they have concurred in its importance to both countries involved.
