Mary Elizabeth Brown of Marymount Manhattan College reviews Missionaries On the Move: A Pastoral History of the Scalabrinians in Australia and Asia 1952-2002 by Desmond Cahill. This book presents a history of the Scalabrinians in Australia and Asia over a fifty year timespan. The Italian migrants and the Filipino workers left their homelands, which could not give them bread or a secure future, and it was and remains the task of the Scalabrinians to keep them committed to their faith. To achieve this, they were always to be missionaries on the move serving people on the move. They are migrants with the migrants, migrants for the migrants.
