Population Displacement in the Sudan: Patterns, Responses, Coping Strategies

Gamal Mahmoud Hamid
1996

This book has three objectives. Firstly, to analyze the root causes and manifestations of recent population displacements in the Sudan. Secondly, to investigate how displaced households cope with their plight. Thirdly, to investigate the scope and impact of policies adopted by governmental and nongovernmental institutions in response to population displacement. Elements of an alternative approach to deal with displacement, and its ramifications, are proposed.
