Beyond Deportation: The Role of Prosecutorial Discretion in Immigration Cases

Book by Shoba Sivaprasad Wadhia, Penn State Dickinson School of Law Reviewed by Cosmas Ukachukwu Ikegwuruka, University of Newcastle
Fall 2016

Cosmas Ukachukwu Ikegwuruka reviews Beyond Deportation: The Role of Prosecutorial Discretion in Immigration Cases. This book examines the issue of prosecutorial discretion, asking how these discretions are exercised and under what conditions. By exploring this issue, questions of transparency, consistency, and acceptability of prosecutorial discretion programs are raised. The book aims to provide insight in the discernment between those who may be protected from removal given their strong equities, and those who present true danger to the community or are removed because of public-interest considerations.
