Claudia Diehl, Academic Counsellor at the German Federal Institute for Population Studies, reviews Germans or Foreigners? Attitudes toward Ethnic Minorities in Post-Reunification Germany. The book is about Germans’ attitudes towards ethnic minorities, particularly negative attitudes of prejudice, ethnocentrism, anti-Semitism, etc. The data used is from the ALLBUS, a cross-sectional general social survey conducted biannually in Germany. This book also includes descriptions of how ethnic minorities perceive relations between the themselves and the “non-foreign” German. This makes the work more extensive than previous pieces written on the subject.
