Leah Haus, Professor of Political Science at Vassar College, reviews Les Couleurs du Drapeau: L’armée française face aux discriminations. The book is about discrimination against second generation individuals in the French Army. The authors conducted a multitude of interviews with second generation individuals in the military, and revealed that the Army’s model of uniformity sometimes included exclusionary practices.
