Migration and Voodoo
Stephen D. Glazier, Professor of Anthropology at the University of Nebraska – Lincoln, reviews Migration and Voodoo. The book is about Haitian religious rituals, particularly the use of audio cassette “letters” used to communicate with relatives in Haiti and the United States, as well as the lwa (Voodoo spirits). It focuses on one Haitian migrant, ritual changes, and his eventual conversion to Protestantism.
